A ROMANY gypsy family who want to increase the number of statics and caravans on their site at Harcombe, on the outskirts of Chudleigh, have won unanimous praise from councillors.

Cyril Gosling and his family set up home in a 4.4-acre field at The Stables, Marsh Lane, between four and five years ago with two static and two touring vans.
Now Mr Gosling has applied to change the use of the land to a gypsy/traveller site including the siting of five permanent pitches, ten transit pitches, the storage of a minimum of ten touring units and the erection of a single storey utility building. The site currently has permission for three permanent pitches and tourers.
