SELINA Burridge, thought to be Kingsteignton's oldest resident, celebrated her 106th birthday on Tuesday.
There was a special birthday party at the Greenhill Residential Home where she lives, attended by residents and staff.
Born in Derby in 1907, she was one of ten children. After her schooldays she went to work in a mill at the age of 14 before going into service as a nursemaid, looking after a baby.
During and after the second world war she worked in a drapery as a shop assistant.
She married Frank (known as Jim) in 1929 and the couple moved to Kingsteignton in 1970. He died in 1999.
She has lived at the Greenhill Residential Home since 2005.
