Students at Teign School in Kingsteignton , part of Education South West, are celebrating today (Thursday 21st August) after receiving their long-awaited GCSE results. Following months of preparation, hard work, and dedication, Year 11 students collected their results with smiles, pride, and excitement for the future.

Teign School would like to extend its congratulations to all students for their achievements. Once again, the results reflect the school’s high standards and the determination of its young people, who have worked incredibly hard to overcome the challenges of recent years.

Staff at Teign School are delighted with the achievements of all of their Year 11 students including Emily Thomas who gained 3 Grade 9’s, 2 Grade 7’s, and 4 Grade 6’s and Josh Baker with 1 Grade 9, 4 Grade 8’s, 3 Grade 7’s and 1 Grade 5 . Both will continue at Teign Sixth Form.

This year, Teign School has developed a remarkable international partnership with Zalishchyky State Gimnasia in Ukraine, with ESW staff even giving a presentation about their collaboration at an OECD Education Committee meeting. The partnership has seen students and staff share ideas on curriculum models, post-16 pathways, and school development.

In addition, Teign students have taken the lead on sustainability through the formation of an Eco-committee, working towards the Eco-Schools Green Flag award with creative projects like a fruit exchange, bug hotel, and improved recycling.

Lucie Wagner, Head of School at Teign School said:“We are so proud of our Year 11 students and what they have accomplished. These results reflect not only their academic ability but also their resilience, commitment, and willingness to succeed. They are a credit to our school and community.

“The support from families and the dedication of our staff has made a real difference. These results, combined with our recent A-level success, show how far Teign School has come on its journey. We remain committed to helping every student thrive, academically and personally, so they can go on to lead extraordinary lives.”

Matthew Shanks, CEO of Education South West added: “Huge congratulations to all students receiving their GCSE results today. This is a special moment that marks the end of one chapter and the start of another.

“I’m incredibly proud of the students and staff at Teign School for their exceptional work this year. These results are a reflection of their commitment, quality of teaching, and shared ambition for success. I wish all our young people the very best in their next steps.”
