Have you seen any of these Toby jugs? They were stolen from the Rowcroft Hospice shop in Queen Street, Newton Abbot, between 5.30pm on Wedneday and 8.50am on Thursday last week. A stone was thrown through the window of the charity shop and the jugs, donated only that day, were snatched. Shop manager Margaret Barker valued the Royal Doulton jugs at £50 each, but they could be worth much more to a collector. The damage to the shop will cost £1,000 to repair. 'i was just so angry,' said Mrs Barker. 'I was hurt that anyone could do such a thing to a local hospice shop. I was in tears. 'All of us work so hard for Rowcroft because it's such a fantastic place. 'Two things have been my only rays of hope – lovely local people have been making £1 donations and buying more from the shop than usual, and I discovered one of the Toby jugs had escaped the thief. 'She – her name is Arriet and she's the only lady – had been knocked into the broken window and been overlooked.' PC john Fisher would like to hear from you on 08452 777444 if you have seen the Toby jugs, or can give him any information about the crime.
