TIME is running out for Teignbridge people to share their views about the future of children’s health services across the district.

Parents, carers, health professionals and community groups working with children have already taken part in the survey which looks at provisions including school nursing, mental health and additional needs.

The survey forms part of a final push to get people with experience of the services to give their views and influence the shape of the contracts that will be tendered in the coming months.

Proposals have been drawn up by health and social care professionals, clinicians and partner organisations, based on public engagement work with children, young people, parents and carers.

The proposals look at all of the services together so that so that in future they can work much better as one system.

Before decisions are made on how future services should be structured, health professionals want as many people as possible to comment or raise questions before the survey closes on Friday (September 15).

Dr Anita Pearson, Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s clinical lead for children and young people, said: ‘We’ve been getting some really insightful views from parents and health professionals across the county, and these views will inform the shape of these very important services.

‘The health and social care organisations have always strived to ensure that high-quality services are provided for children and young people, but the world is constantly changing and services have to change appropriately.

‘Any changes needn’t be dramatic, but this is an opportunity to ensure we get the system right – creating the best services possible.’
