The proposed closure of Bovey Tracey Hospital has prompted town councillor Chris Robillard to call a special meeting.
It takes place this Wednesday, October 19, at the Dolphin Hotel in Bovey Tracey.
Cllr Robillard said: ‘One of the platforms I stood on in my election campaign was to fight the hospital closure.
‘I have been asking questions of the CCG and have received information about the running costs of the hospital. I have also asked them how much this consultation process is costing, but am being told that information is not yet available.
‘I have received a lot of encouragement from traders and townspeople about the meeting, and am delighted with the response so far.
‘I have extended invitations to groups fighting the closure of the hospitals in Ashburton and Paignton and hope they will be there.’
The meeting, which is open to all, begins at 5.30pm.
