THE decision to close Bovey Tracey Hospital's nine inpatient beds without consultation and transfer staff and patients to Newton Abbot for an interim period has been condemned.

Cllr Avril Kerswell, chairman of the hospital's league of friends, said it came out of the blue at a minute's notice without informing anyone until the day and was 'heartless.'
