PUPILS and families at a Teignbridge school have pulled out all the stops to provide stock for the local food bank.

Buckfastleigh Food Bank has taken delivery of donations from St Catherine’s C of E Primary, Heathfield, in time for Christmas.

Set up more than two years ago, the food bank regularly helps ten families or more every week in the former wool town.

Demand is expected to increase in the run-up to the festive season.

Food bank volunteer Hazel Hawkins from the group’s base at St Luke’s Church, Heathfield, went to the primary school where she collected the donations.

She said: ‘It’s just wonderful what they have done, so heartwarming.
