A HEAT health alert has been issued for the South West ahead of the UK’s fourth heatwave of the year.
The yellow alert comes into effect from 9am tomorrow, August 12 and lasts until 6pm on Wednesday, August 13.
Significant impacts are possible across the health and social care services due to the high temperatures, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) says.
Amber and yellow heat health alerts have been issued for all of England.
Temperatures are expected to hit as high as 34 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country, though the South West will be relatively cooler, with temperatures expected to peak at around 27 degrees.
The latest forecast marks the fourth heatwave of 2025 and a far cry from the winds brought by Storm Floris earlier in August.
