HEDGEHOGS at Ogwell’s Prickly Ball Farm need a new hospital, as their present one is in a state of disrepair.

The 30-year-old timber building has a leaky roof and broken windows, so a ‘rebuild fund’ is being set up to create new premises.

Owner Juliet Harvey said: ‘The timber building has come to the end of its life. We need bigger and better facilities so we can take in more hedgehogs.

‘We have 70 hedgehogs in at the moment and are reaching breaking point. When the temperature drops, and the first frost comes, we’re expecting more and things could get difficult.’
