Sue Rollason, secretary of Kingsteignton Youth Centre, writes:

You carried a report in the MDA on March 23 on efforts by Devon and Cornwall Police to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation in our communities.

Child sexual exploitation is a live issue for young people living in our towns and villages, but one that is rarely discussed.

At KYC (Kingsteignton Youth Centre) we train all our staff and volunteers in safeguarding, including how to spot signs of child sexual exploitation and what to do to help a young person who is being abused in this way.

Sadly, victims do not always recognise what is happening to them and we aim to raise young people’s awareness of sexual exploitation and ensure they know how to get advice and support if they are worried about this.

Your article gave details of a website for young people who want advice but unfortunately the address was mis-spelt in your article.

The correct website address is: www.faceup2it.org.

This is a confidential and free service, like the free and anonymous support phone service 116000.
