MORE than 1,000 properties in Chudleigh were plunged into darkness over the weekend.

Power supplies went out in 1,088 homes and businesses in the area just befre 4.30pm on Sunday.

Western Power Distibution managed to tackle the circuit trip and had 75 per cent of households up and running within the hour.

The remaining power deprived buildings were switched back on by 8pm.
