STUDENTS at Dawlish Community College received performance awards at a ceremony at the college.
They were presented by John Tenner, academy operations manager at Flybe, and Ben Whitlock, a former student – presented student.
The 30 students receiving their awards (ranging from year 7 to year 10) had been nominated for their outstanding academic performance within the college specialism areas of mathematics, science and design technology.
In recognition of their specific high performance over the spring and summer terms, the students were presented with both a certificate and trophy. In addition to the latter, two students received a memorial cup for their overall Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 performance within the technology specialism.
Lin Caunter, assistant principal and director of college specialism, not only praised the students for their exceptional achievements, but reminded the audience of the role of key attributes (commitment, dedication and resilience) in reaching personal goals.
She congratulated all students of the college for their high performances in all curriculum areas and reinforced the continuing upward trend of the college Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 student performances.
The audience included the current year 10 college cohort, parents/carers and governors.
