A BOVEY Tracey hotel had debts of more than £1 million when it went into administration, according to a report which has found the business to be beyond saving.

Rascal (Plymouth) Ltd ran the 22-bedroom Coombe Cross Hotel, Coombe Lane, when financial trouble struck in 2011.

A viability report prepared for the site's new owner, Angela Walker, and available on the Teignbridge council website, has revealed the mortgage debt at the time administrators were called in was £1,045,173.
