CHUDLEIGH will lose out by £650,000 if there was a 50 per cent drop in an off-site affordable housing contribution.
Cllr Richard Keeling told Teignbridge Council Planning Committee on Monday that it had agreed to a contribution of 40 per cent when it passed a scheme for the change of use and conversion of a nursing home into 27 homes at Rivendell, Woodway Street.
'That was in May and now in December that is down to 20 per cent. There has been a viability study but the market has not gone down in Chudleigh. If we accept this we would be losing nine houses,' he said.
