RHS fruit and vegetable judge Ian Hallett clained he was ‘suitably impressed’ as he undertook the official duty of judging at the Dawlish Garden Society Flower and Produce Show last weekend.
‘I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at the overall quality and standard of blooms and produce displayed,’ he said.
The show, held at The Strand Centre in the town, was the first major show for the society following the curtailing of the 2020 event due to Covid.
‘It was a really successful show this year, despite it being scaled down because of restrictions,’ said June Cassidy, chair of the society.
‘We had a really busy day with a lot of people coming through the doors.
‘The plant sales went really well and the excess stock that has been donated to Westcliff Primary Academy for their newly built sensory garden.’
June added that planing for next year has already started and they hope that the show will be back to full capacity with a normal programme.
