THE icy snap continues into the weekend with the Met Office updating its Yellow Warning of ice.

Disruption is likely due to icy surfaces according to the latest alert which now covers Devon until Noon on Sunday.

Temperatures dropped to minus six Centigrade in Newton Abbot by 7am this morning, Friday, and are expected to dip below freezing again tonight and on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Met Office.

A Met Office spokesperson adds: ‘Frequent wintry showers are likely to fall onto frozen surfaces in places, leading to the formation of icy patches.

‘These showers are expected to fall as snow on high ground, with the potential for several centimetres to accumulate, especially over the high ground of north Wales.’
