What's happened to Newton Abbot Market? Newton Abbot is a market town and did have a thriving market for hundreds of years but have you taken a look at it lately?

There are several empty stalls in the indoor section and it just seems to be ignored by the majority of shoppers who head straight for the town centre with its chain stores.

There are some fantastic stalls to be found all through the market with items you just can't find anywhere else and I've always found the prices to be excellent too.

Plus you can't beat the personal service you get.

I grew up here and it's upsetting for me to see how much it's changed.

Why don't the council put more money into promoting and developing the market instead of spending millions on roads to take people out of the town?

The market used to be the centre of the community and it kept money in the local economy. What would happen if it were to disappear? Would you care?

Don't you agree something should be done to save it?
