The trust which has taken over the former Seale-Hayne Agricultural College site on the outskirts of Newton Abbot has revealed plans for a major project.

The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust, which supports disabled youngsters, wants to build a hotel, bars and restaurants, shops and even a brewery at the 44-acre site just off the road to Ashburton.

It would all bring in income for the trust's work.

But the whole scheme could be scuppered if plans for 200 homes – submitted some time ago to Teignbridge Council – do not get the go-ahead.

Decisions on the applications are expected this autumn and the trust admits it is looking at a gamble.

But it does have the support of the Seale-Hayne Future Group.
