That's the way to spend your day, lazing on the grass as the sun shines.Just the sound of the breeze rustling the leaves, the buzz of busy bees and there you have it – idyllic times.Like the two people in our picture. except that they – without being invited – enjoyed themselves on the neatly-cut lawns at Totnes MP Anthony Steen's home at Diptford. And they said it was fair game – they had contributed to the Tory MPs £88,000 expenses – subject to so much public anger that he has said he will step down at the next general eelction – and felt they deserved it.So a 'naked' picnic was all right by Heydon Prowse, of online multimedia magaziner Don't Panic, and constituent Penny Hemming. They described the place as 'like Balmoral', referring to Mr Steen's own statement that others were 'jealous' of his property. They also tried gain Mr Steen's attention by knocking on his front door and asking if they could use his toilet. Mr Steen was reportedly not at home at the time. Ms Hemming said: 'I think it is disgusting the way that the MPs have been using taxpayers' money to pay for the maintenance of their homes, we just thought that we deserved to enjoy what we had paid for.'I think that if anything this issue highlights the fact that they're obviously not being paid enough if they have to bend the rules and fiddle their expenses.'Mr Prowse, who has treated other MPs similarly, said: ' His house almost looked like Balmoral in the pictures and we quite fancied spending the day on the lawns.'I mean, we paid for the place so we should be able to treat it like home, right? Not surprsingly, Mr Steen did not wish to comment.
