Up to seven jobs could be lost in Newton Abbot after travel firm Thomas Cook announced the closure of 200 outlets nationwide.
Bosses on Wednesday confirmed the Courtenay Street branch would be axed and that a 90-day consultation with staff had begun.
Some might be offered work in the Thomas Cook-owned Co-op travel shop opposite.
Speaking on the same day that worsening unemployment figures were released by the government, Ian Ailles, Thomas Cook UK chief executive said: 'We've undertaken a comprehensive review of our retail network and today's proposals will ensure that as the UK's leading high street travel retailer we have the right stores in the right places for our customers.'
