RESIDENTS in Teignbridge have the opportunity to hop aboard a Heritage Bus on every Friday throughout next month to visit museums in the area.

The old 56 seater double deckers will leave from outside the Newton Abbot Museum and the Dawlish Museum at 10am each Friday, returning at around 4pm.

Each week the trip will visit two different museums in the district.

Felicity Cole, Newton Abbot Museum creator, said many people did not know there were these little gems in Teignbridge, such as the Valiant Soldier public house in Buckfastleigh, where time has stood still since the 1960s.

The bus trips are free and the seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The Heritage Bus Project is part of Museums and Galleries Month and has been sponsored by the South West Museums Libraries and Archives Council, and Teignbridge Council.
