It’s ‘kids for a quid’ on South Devon Railway during the half term holiday next week. And they can use the old round pound coins too.
From tomorrow, October 21, to Friday October 27 all children, aged three to 15, will be able travel on the trains between Buckfastleigh and Totnes and return, or as many trips as they like, for just £1, as long as they’re with a grown-up. Under three’s travel free.
An SDR spokesman said: ‘We look forward to welcoming lots of holidaying children during the popular October half-term holiday week and helping their mums and dads to enjoy a very affordable day out as they enjoy some of the best views in Devon.
‘And, if people still have any of the old one pound coins left after their recent withdrawal from use, then the South Devon Railway will also be accepting the old ‘round pounds’ as valid payment throughout "kids for a quid" week.’
On Saturday and Sunday October 28 and 29, the SDR ends their main 2017 season with their special ‘half price weekend’ when tickets to ride on the railway are at half normal fares.
