CHARITIES are invited to take part in a special recruitment day to ensure their vital work continues to help Teignbridge people for years to come.

Kind-hearted colleagues at Newton Abbot Tesco Superstore are hosting a range of good causes so they can meet the public and spread the word about their work.

This follows a similar event in February, which proved to be a huge success, enabling charities to attract more volunteers.

Janette Parker, Community Champion at the Newton Abbot Tesco Superstore, said: “There are so many charities doing incredible work in our communities, and without them lots of people’s lives would be badly affected.

“However, many volunteers did not return to their charities after the pandemic, and that has left a number of organisations having to reduce services to the community.

‘The consequences are not good for those people who need the charities, so we are doing our best to support voluntary organisations as they try to recruit much-needed volunteers.

‘The first time we held a special recruitment day at the store was very successful, so we are holding another in the hope that other charities will benefit. Our generous customers were very supportive last time, and we’re hoping for similar support again.”

Charities taking part in the recruitment day will each have displays at the store on June 2, from 10am to 2pm, with leaflets available and volunteers on hand to answer questions. Any charities wanting to take part in the recruitment day can email Janette at [email protected]
