A 63-YEAR-OLD Kingsteignton man suffered serious injuries when his machine crashed on the A380 near Great Haldon last night (Tues).

The rider was travelling towards Exeter on his Triumph 675cc machine when it collided with the central reservation barrier near the static speed camera.

His bike came to a rest in the overtaking lane.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident which happened just before 6pm.

He was taken by ambulance to Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital's intensive care unit with potentially life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman confirmed the casualty, who has not been named, ’suffered numerous serious fracture injuries.’

Police are appealing for witnesses.
