KINGSTEIGNTON residents sang joyfully at the mayor’s civic carol service at the Community Hall last Friday.

The event was staged by the Town Mayor, Councillor Ron Peart, and the town council

Town Crier Mrs Jackie Edwards rang her bell and wholeheartedly welcomed everybody to open the service prior to handing over to Cllr Peart who also welcomed all dignitaries from other local councils, special guests, residents, school children and headteachers’ from local schools. 

The Rev David Goddard, of Kingsteignton Community Baptist Church, led the service.

He gave an amusing science demonstration as well as delivering blessings. 

Miss Catherine Harris of the United Reformed Church, Father Mark Smith of St Michael’s Church and Mr Rob Bovey and town crier Mrs Jackie Edwards gave readings throughout the service. 

The children from Rydon Primary School sang their hearts out to the delight of the audience. 

Mr Paul Cobley, West End singing star, raised the roof with his outstanding solo performances, Cllr Alys Tillson-Hawke and Anna Cockcroft gave a duo violin performance and KCBC (Kingsteignton Baptist Church) musicians gave support throughout the service and the KCBC gave support by serving the refreshments.
