FOR many self-respecting towns and villages in Teignbridge the annual carnival was the event of the year.

A week of merriment and fundraising culminating (normally on a Saturday) with the main event of the procession winding its way through the streets.

Today we’ve gone back to September 1977 to see what the good burghers of Kingsteignton were up to that year for their carnival.
