KINGSTEIGNTON town council's bid to take over the redundant community resource centre may have fallen at the first hurdle.
Councillors had drawn up a 40-plus page detailed business plan, outlining their vision for the building and spacious grounds at Greenhill Way.
Having previously submitted a right to bid for the site, councillors had hoped landowners Devon County Council would hand it over under asset transfer.
However, the town council has now heard that the authority intends to sell the site on the open market.
