Land next to Chudleigh cricket pitch could be developed for housing if a major planning application is approved.
John Rattlidge, of Old Chapel, Exeter Road, wants to set aside almost 1.5 acres for the construction of up to 14 free-market homes.
Current TeignbridgeCouncil rules state that any project having 15 or more has to include a number of affordable housing but Mr Rattlidge's agent, Andrew Lethbridge, has confirmed that would not be the case at Old Chapel.
'The exact number of homes will be a reserved matter but will not exceed 14,' he told this newspaper.
