YOUNGSTERS in Kingsteignton have been invited to enter a lighted lantern competition at the town council’s outdoor community carol service, at the community hall car park in Rydon Road, tonight.

Children aged 11 and under can make their own lanterns and enter the competition with cash prizes, from £10 to £30.

Lanterns must be smaller than 8in by 12in and lit with artificial lights only.

The carol service will start at 6.30pm. It’s being held outside the community hall this year, instead of its usual fountain location, due to public safety issues around traffic at the fountain.
