AN online survey which asks people’s views about traffic and vehicle speeds in Newton Abbot closes this Monday (July 19) – and residents and businesses are being urged to complete it if they haven’t already.

Newton Abbot Town Council, Teignbridge District Council and Devon County Council have joined forces to produce the Newton Abbot Community Engagement Survey

The partnership is currently investigating the viability of a 20mph limit in the town, and a key part of that is understanding people’s perceptions of traffic.

All answers are anonymous, and the survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The questions include views about traffic flow if drivers generally keep to the speed limit and safety.

And the final question is open, giving people the chance to express their views about traffic, whatever that might be.

All answers, including all the key themes highlighted in the final open question, will be reported along with other findings from this survey.

Alongside traffic data, the results of the survey will then help the partnership understand if a new lower speed limit would benefit the town and help shape future policy.

The survey will be open for completion until Monday, July 19.
