AN art student from Newton Abbot was caught up in the terrorist atrocities in Paris where he was able to photograph a city in shock.

Brad North, 19, from Buckland, was among a party of 70 Plymouth University students who were in the French capital just 24 hours after the murderous attack on the Charlie Hebdo offices.

He and some of his pals saw and recorded amazing scenes in the wake of the outrage which dominated world headlines last week.

They visited the supermarket in the east of the city just hours after a gunman – who killed four hostages – was shot dead by riot police on Friday afternoon.
