A TORTOISE which narrowly escaped death after ending up in a recycling lorry in Teignmouth has finally been reunited with its owner thanks to a major campaign.

The owner, who does not want to be identified, was found after an appeal by Teignbridge Council on social media.

The public appeal which helped to track down the lucky-to-be-alive tortoise’s home was launched on the authority’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
