A YOUNG motorcyclist from Buckfast died after his machine collided with a car in Paignton two years ago, an inquest jury has ruled.
Nineteen-year-old Greg Taylor, of Furlong Close, died in Torbay Hospital after suffering chest injuries in the accident in August, 2013.
The hearing spanned four days in September, but was adjourned after the scheduled time expired.
It resumed at Torquay’s Palace Hotel on Monday when the jury concluded that the death was as a result of the collision which happened during an overtaking manoeuvre by the deceased.
The driver, Niall Darvell, was later given a suspended prison sentence for causing death by careless driving.
Greg’s mother, Bev, condemned the sentence which she felt was disgusting. She also criticised the police handling of the case.
