A MAN was taken to hospital after being hit by a golf ball in Christow this morning (mon).

An ambulance crew was called to the Teign Valley Golf Club, Canonteign Lane, after the 65-year-old casualty was struck on the course just after 10am.

He is said to have suffered a nasty cut to the head and was bleeding quite heavily after the accident.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital at Wonford for treatment.
