A BUCKFASTLEIGH man has been remanded in custody on a charge of assaulting a woman by beating.

Dennis Ham, aged 28, of Plymouth Road, pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman by beating.

He also denies having a bladed article, a kitchen knife, in a public place – Buckfastleigh’s Chapel Street – without good reason.
