A MAN has died at hospital after being found face-down in Newton Abbot's flood-swollen River Lemon today (tues).
Police and paramedics were called to the scene near the Asda superstore at 11.15am after a man in his 50s was seen in difficulties in the fast-flowing waters. He was eventually found downriver and retrieved from water in the Brunel Road area.
Two rapid response vehicles attended the scene together with a land ambulance and the Devon Air Ambulance.
The aircraft flew the casualty, said to be poorly, to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital at Wonford.
