A TWENTY-four-year-old man needed 76 stitches in his face after being glassed in a Newton Abbot nightclub.

The victim was attacked in the ground floor bar area of Enigma, Kingsteignton Road.

Staff dialled 999 at 12.30am on Saturday.

Paramedics from Newton Abbot arrived 15 minutes later and rushed him to hospital, where he was treated and later discharged.

A spokesman for SW Ambulance Service said the victim had suffered 'a nasty facial wound.'

Police arrested a 20-year-old south Devon man on the premises. He was questioned and released on police bail.
