A MAN escaped with his life after being trapped in his blazing, arson-hit home in Chudleigh.

The victim, in his mid-40s, smashed his way out of his ground floor flat after two gas cylinders exploded outside the front door of the multi-occupation property in Mount Pleasant on Sunday morning.
