THE wonders of Britian’s ancient past are to take pride of place at Lustleigh Village Hall on Monday, October 24, as author and photographer, David R Abram shows off his latest collection of images.

Over the past half decade, David was journeyed this here great and ancient land, visiting some of the most awe-inspiring prehistoric sites on offer.

Using drones of various kinds and telescopic poles, David, who was born and raised in Wales, captured aerial views of several sites, including several dating back to the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic, Neolithic Britain, the Bronze Age and those from Iron Age Britain.

Whether it be ceremonial sites in Snowdonia dating to the Bronze Age or Neolithic tombs in Orkney, David’s images span both time and space and provide a rare insight into sites typically shrouded in mystery thanks to the aerial perspective.

David will be giving a talk which will cherry-pick highlights from his new book, the Aerial Atlas of Ancient Britain.

Having just published by Thames & Hudson, David’s book includes a foreward by Professor Alice Roberts and charts the arc of British prehistory from the end of the Ice Age to the arrival of the Romans.

Tickets, which are avaliable from Eventbrite as well as on the door, cost £7.50
