Margaret Doney, great-grandmother and lifelong resident of Teignmouth, writes:
I would like to respond to a letter from Peter Spencer saying Muse coming to Teignmouth caused mayhem.
Yes, there were lots of traffic officers around on every street corner – better than having lots of accidents.
Yes, the seafront was barricaded up – for three days – but to say it looked like a prison, I hardly think so.
Yes, the grass got damaged – it will grow back, honestly.
Mr Spencer also said the holidaymakers would remember Teignmouth for the wrong reasons – wrong again.
Most of the people who were in Teignmouth for those two days came to Teignmouth because of Muse.
I queued for seven hours to get tickets for my daughter who, along with thousands of others, had a wonderful time and they will remember the weekend when Muse came home, staged a sell out concert and generated thousands of pounds for Teignmouth buisnesses, but I do not suppose Mr Spencer thought about that either.
