AT the December meeting of Bishopsteignton Flower club, four members demonstrated imposed arrangements which were then raffled to the members.
Some hardy stalwarts braved the frosty elements to enjoy a party with Dutch supper. The committee served a most welcome bowl of hot soup, followed by a sumptuous buffet. Some brain-teasing games and bingo completed a pleasant evening.
A demonstration will be presented by Margaret Hallows on Thursday, February 6, at 7.30pm in the community centre. Visitors are welcome.
Celia Gibson demonstrated a festive creation with white and pink lilies, red bloom carnations, roses, berried holly and mixed foliage in a wide black container.
For additional pizzazz, a cerise drape flowed elegantly through the arrangement.
Ann Pinfold's arrangement involved an exotic selection of flowers in a tall white ceramic pot.
Mares' tails with phormium, strelitza and fatsia leaves were placed horizontally on opposite sides. white freesias followed this line with green roses opposite to them. Three yellow calla lilies created height. A green anthurium and a large stem of green cymbidium orchids were centrally placed with two green apples.
A swathe of golden gauze ribbon, a dark green star shaped candle and switched-on battery candle lights completed the base.
