WOW! What a year – the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations followed in quick succession by the London Olympics and Paralympics.

There was barely chance to surface for air during those memorable weeks.

Once the euphoria died down it was a return to normality – a downturn in the economy and a downpour of rain and more rain. Surely there is no more left to come down in 2013?

It brought flooding, not only in Teignbridge but throughout Britain, some suffering more than once.
