COUNCILLORS held a minute’s silence in memory of two members of Teignbridge Council who died at the weekend.
Members of the planning committee stood to remember Bovey Tracey councillor Anna Klinkenberg and Chudleigh councillor Patricia Johnson-King who both passed away on Saturday.
The councillors were members of the planning committee.
Chairman Dennis Smith said Cllr Johnson-King had been ill for some time and long-standing councillor Klinkenberg, who had been a previous vice-chairman of the planning committee, had died ‘quite suddenly’ after a short illness.
Cllr Johnson-King’s funeral will be held on Saturday at Chudleigh parish church and afterwards in the town hall, a sale of some of her possessions will be held to raise money for the town.
Cllr Klinkenberg’s funeral will take place on Friday, October 28 at St Peter, St Paul and St Thomas of Canterbury Church in Bovey Tracey.
Because pink was her favourite colour, her family asked mourners to wear a pink item of clothing.
