The past few weeks have been busy at The Warren, both on and off the golf course, writes Robin Goodley.

The vets' and ladies' sections held their AGMs, with outgoing captains Peter West and Linda Trunkfield handing over the reigns to Tim Morgan and Gina Redman respectively.

The ladies' section also presented their trophies for the year at their.

On the golf course, the weekly stablefords have continued, with Steve Mayes and Mike Davis featuring prominently, with a win and a second place on consecutive weeks at the beginning of November. Division two winners those weeks were Alan House and Barry Pomeroy.

Wayne Chant and Paul Fryatt took the top prizes in the Sunday Stableford, while regular winner Simon Mitchell earned yet another handicap reduction with victory in the midweek event.

The annual Hairies and Baldies Challenge Match was a tightly contested affair, with the Hairies emerging victorious by six-and-a-half matches to five-and-a-half.

The Texas Scramble produced some fine scoring, as the team of Jason Rabbage, Paul Jackson and Matt Perryman shot 58.1 to hold off Gary Roelich, Pete Morris and Dave Burge.

In the ladies' section, the team event before the annual meeting saw Pam Stanaway, Jo Stokes and Stephanie Holland come away with the win.

Exeter University, who now play their home matches at The Warren, maintained their fine start to the season with a win and a draw.
