OVER two dozen Christmas trees are currently adorning the nave and aisles of a church known as the Cathedral of the Moor

St Pancras Church at Widecombe-in-the-Moor is once again hosting its ever-popular Christmas tree festival.

The theme this year is Weather, somewhat apt with the current cold snap, and it has been interpreted in numerous ways in the displays.

The trees, a mix of real and artificial ones, have all been decorated by local families, individuals charities, churches, schools, shops, businesses, clubs and societies. ‘It’s been very busy since we started on Saturday,’ said one of the organisers Judy Southcombe.

‘Visitors to the festival will be able to vote for favourite tree and all proceeds raised this year will be going to the charity Young Devon’

The festival runs at the church until Sunday (December 18) which finishes with a carol service at 6pm.
