A BID to build up to 250 homes on a controversial site in Kingsteignton is going back before planners.

Developer Eagle One Homes wants to develop the prominent Penns Mount area, building new homes as well as providing cycle ways, community orchard and open space.

But the proposals have been the subject of protracted discussions and have already been deferred from a previous planning meeting while negotiations over the emerging local plan were ongoing.

District councillors had attempted to get the entire area removed from the plan but officers insisted there was nowhere else for new housing in Kingsteignton to go.
