TRIBUTES have been paid to a 19-year-old Buckfast motorcyclist who died after a collision with a car in Paignton on Sunday.

Gregory Taylor, Greg to his friends and family, was treated at the scene in King's Ash Road shortly before 2am but died later in Torbay Hospital.

Detectives and collision experts mounted an investigation with the result that a 37-year-old Paignton man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was subsequently released on bail until November 7 pending further enquiries.

Mr Taylor's family issued a statement through the police which said: 'Greg was a loving brother and son. He was loved unconditionally by all his family and friends and will be remembered always. The family respectfully request that they be left alone to grieve in peace at this very difficult time.'

Tributes were also paid on Twitter. Sam Stevens ?wrote: 'RIP Greg Taylor, you were too young and didn't deserve to go out the way you did, it has been a pleasure training with you.'

Devon rock band Condemned added their thoughts. They said: 'Our friend Greg Taylor whom has followed this band for years was killed last night. He was a great guy and didn't deserve what happened. Our thoughts are with his family.'

Another comment from Jasmin Holman said: 'RIP to my mate Greg Taylor I will miss you.'

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident in which a red VW Golf was involved. They have asked anyone in the Tweenaway Cross area between 1am and 2am to contact them on 101 and quote log 141 of August 4.
