Christmas could come early for Muse fans, if they bid and win exclusive band merchandise up for grabs in a special auction organised by the Teignmouth Players at the Carlton Theatre, Teignmouth, on December 12.

A specially framed poster is also up for grabs by entering a raffle.

The players were given memorabilia, designed for Muses's Seaside Rendezvous concerts, which were held on the Den in September.

'Muse gave us the posters, T-shirts, mugs and sticks of rock in recognition of our help when they organised the two local shows,' said Rodney Bowen, of Teignmouth Players.

'Money raised will go to the players. We hope to get a good response as Muse are extremely popular here. The items would make great Christmas presents.'

Lots are on display in the window of the theatre and will be sold by a blind bid auction, where secret bids are made. The highest bid gets the prize.

One lucky fan will be able to get their hands on the framed poster by entering a draw.

Raffle tickets are available at the Carlton Theatre during the Mark Price Christmas Show with Footlights Dance on December 11 and at the Goliath gig on December 12.

'Winning bids will be announced at the Goliath concert,' said Mr Bowen.

'We hope to raise a significant amount of money.'

Muse, who were on Jonathan Ross' TV show last week, might play Glastonbury next year. Mr Ross wrote on his twitter page that Bellamy said they might.
