IS it a bird? Is it a plane? Well, no one really seems to know.
Strange goings on have been occurring and literally falling from the skies above Kingsteignton.
At the start of the week, the Advertiser received several calls from curious residents reporting sightings of ufos on Sunday evening. One lady, who does not wish to be named, described seeing an arc of eight red lights passing over, before one darted back over her head.
Nigel and Tammy Shapland, from Exeter Road, along with their two daughters, Danni and Courtney, said they saw a cluster of what they believed to be helicopters in the sky at around 7pm, before red lights started to fall towards the ground.
One such object (pictured with Danni and Courtney) was found among scaffolding in their back yard. 'It was all quite bizarre,' commented Mrs Shapland, who said that they also saw around four other red lights land nearby.
The strange arrival appeared to be a red sheet with a piece of wood attached.
Air traffic control at Exeter looked into the matter but came up blank, as did the police, whose neighbourhood beat manager Zdena Best could not find an explanation for the objects.
On closer inspection of the photographs, the general consensus around the Advertiser office was that the objects were most likely Chinese flying lanterns.
